Fish bone meal is a natural byproduct of the fishing industry, and Coast of Maine makes use of this "waste" material as plant food, that would otherwise be discarded. It is made by dehydrating and grinding the bones into meal and helps improve soil structure and fertility by adding organic matter, which enhances water retention, aeration, and microbial activity in the soil. Coast of Maine Fish Bone Meal is preservative-free and is used instead of traditional steamed bone meal in all Coast of Maine fertilizer blends. Nutrients in this product are derived entirely from Pacific Whiting that has been cooked, the bone separated and dried under low heat.
